Where to go, where to go? Something on your mind, Wanna leave me behind, wanna leave me behind...
You're spinning me around, My feet are off the ground. I dunno where I stand. Do you have to hold my hand? You mystify me, you mystify me, you mystify me...
Oh, when he walked into the room, It happened oh so soon. I didn't want to know. Does he really have to go? You mystify me, you mystify me, you mystify me...
And I couldn't find the words, To say, "I love you." And he couldn't find the time, To say, "I need you." It wouldn't come out right. It wouldn't come out right. Just came out all wrong.
You're spinning me around, My feet are off the ground. I dunno where I stand. Do you have to hold my hand? You mystify me, you mystify me, you mystify me...
Oh, do you know, Where to go, where to go? Something on your mind, Wanna leave me behind, wanna leave me behind
This one is a less mainstream Cranberries song, & I like it very much. It’s kind of irratic in tune….you’ll find it’s kind of all over the place. Total Cranberrie’s style. I can’t really pin down the reason I like this one so much. It makes me think of my old boyfriend, which back then ( high school) might have been a good thing. Now it’s irrelevant.
"And I couldn't find the words, To say, "I love you." And he couldn't find the time, To say, "I need you." It wouldn't come out right. It wouldn't come out right. Just came out all wrong. "
Favorite line. Hmm…the reasons have mystified me as well.

You're wondering who I am (Secret secret, I've got a secret) Machine or mannequin (Secret secret, I've got a secret) With parts made in Japan (Secret secret, I've got a secret) I am the modern man
I've got a secret I've been hiding under my skin My heart is human, my blood is boiling, my brain IBM So if you see me acting strangely, don't be surprised I'm just a man who needed someone and somewhere to hide To keep me alive, just keep me alive Somewhere to hide to keep me alive
I'm not a robot without emotions, I'm not what you see I've come to help you with your problems so we can be free I'm not a hero, I'm not a savior, forget what you know I'm just a man who's circumstances went beyond his control Beyond my control, We all need control I need control, We all need control
I am the moldren man (Secret secret, I've got a secret) Who hides behind a mask (Secret secret, I've got a secret) So no one else can see (Secret secret, I've got a secret) My true identity
Domo arigato, Mr, Roboto Domo, Domo Domo arigato, Mr. Roboto Domo, Domo Domo Arigato, Mr. Roboto Domo Arigato, Mr. Roboto Domo Arigato, Mr. Roboto Domo Arigato, Mr. Roboto (Thank you very much oh Mr. Roboto for doing the jobs that nobody wants to) Domo Arigato, Mr. Roboto (And thank you very much oh Mr. Roboto for helping me escape just when I needed to) Domo Arigato, Mr. Roboto (Thank you thank you thank you) Domo Arigato, Mr. Roboto (I wanna thank you) Domo Arigato, Mr. Roboto (Please thank you)
The problem's plain to see Too much technology Machines to save our lives Machines de-humanize
The time has come at last (Secret secret, I've got a secret) To throw away this mask (Secret secret, I've got a secret) Now everyone can see (Secret secret, I've got a secret) My true identity
I'm Kilroy! Kilroy! Kilroy! Kilroy....
Another forgotten band that has heavily influenced my childhood. My father introduced me to all the great music. On the hour long car rides to my Dad’s place on his visitational weekends, I would choose the music from the tapes he had in his car. It was often either Paul McCartney, Three Dog Night, Chicago or Styx.
I would think up story lines to go with this song, which seemed really legit at the time, but I’m sure would be hilarious now if I tried to remember them. I can at least thank them for teaching me every bit of Japanese I now know today.
Here I am, this is me There is no where else on Earth I'd rather be Here I am, it's just me and you Tonight we'll make our dreams come true
It's a new World, it's a new start It's alive, with the beating of Young hearts It's a new day, it's a new plan I've be waiting for you, here I am
Yeah yeah yeah
Here I am
Here we are, we've just begun And after all this time my time has come Yeah, here we are, still going strong Wright here in the place were we belong
Ooh! It's a new World, it's a new start It's alive, with the beating of Young hearts It's a new day, it's a new plan I've be waiting for you, here I am
Yeah here I am
Here I am
Yeah...
Yeah...
[Waiting for you, here I am]
Here I am, this is me There is no where else on Earth I'd rather be Here I am, just me and you Tonight we'll make our dreams come true...
Ooh! It's a new World, it's a new start It's a live, it's a feeling of Young hearts It's a new day, it's a new plan I've be waiting for you,
Ooh! It's a new World, it's a new start It's alive, with the beating of Young hearts It's a new day, it's a new plan I've be waiting for you, ooh... here I am
Here I am
Ooh
Right next to you
An suddenly the World is all brand new
Here I am
Here I am
Oh, I'm gonna stay
Now There is nothing standing in our way
Ooh! Here I am
Here I am
This is me...
My daughter’s favorite pixar film is Spirit. We watched it over & over again this last summer. Luckily, I don’t really mind, because all the music was written & performed by Brian Adams, my canadian hero ( With some help from Hans Zimmer). Now every time I play anything else by him, my daughter will ask “ Is this the horsey man?” Good girl.

This song isn’t noteworthy, really, at first listen. It’s when you find out that this band consist’s only of animated people for members that you realize it’s true brilliance. That’s right. I said animated. Drawn people.
What was truly awesome was watching Madonna’s opening act with the cartoon band at the 2006 Grammies. Oh how I really wanted legs as killer as hers. Her legs & Kelly Ripa’s arms…hmm. Gotta go. Need to hit the gym!

Salt n’ Peppa. What a trip. Shortly after high school, my best friend & I thought we were pretty cool. We memorized the lyrics to this song & tried to keep up. We blarred it on my poor stereo in my blue Grand Prix coupe & cruised around town. My God, we were awesome.
In the sixth grade, we were especially cool. So cool, that I thought a three piece suite was some strange bathing suite. No,no, really. That kind of cool. Kids think up the silliest things…
So…can you keep up with the rhymes? I dare you to try. Don’t worry— I won’t be there to laugh at you.
Finding this video has made me realize that the 90's weren't as clean as I thought they were! It's no question where Britney got her inspiration from. Oh yeah-- And the lyrics are posted on the screen like a sing-a-long so you can cheat your way through.
Met my old lover in the grocery store The snow was falling Christmas Eve I stole behind her in the frozen foods And I touched her on the sleeve
She didn't recognize the face at first But then her eyes flew open wide She went to hug me and she spilled her purse And we laughed until we cried
We took her groceries to the checkout stand The food was totalled up and bagged We stood there lost in our embarrassment As the conversation dragged
We went to have ourselves a drink or two But couldn't find an open bar We bought a six-pack at the liquor store And we drank it in her car
We drank a toast to innocence We drank a toast to now And tried to reach beyond the emptiness But neither one knew how
She said she'd married her an architect Who kept her warm and safe and dry She would have liked to say she loved the man But she didn't like to lie
I said the years had been a friend to her And that her eyes were still as blue But in those eyes I wasn't sure if I saw Doubt or gratitude
She said she saw me in the record stores And that I must be doing well I said the audience was heavenly But the traveling was hell
We drank a toast to innocence We drank a toast to now And tried to reach beyond the emptiness But neither one knew how
We drank a toast to innocence We drank a toast to time Reliving in our eloquence Another 'auld lang syne'
The beer was empty and our tongues were tired And running out of things to say She gave a kiss to me as I got out And I watched her drive away
Just for a moment I was back at school And felt that old familiar pain And as I turned to make my way back home The snow turned into-- rain...
What an epic song. I wonder how many people are living this reality? Dan Folgelburg really had a way with song writing. I always have enjoyed hearing this song play around Christmas time & New Years. One year, it came on while I was visiting my aunt in Washington Thanks Giving weekend. Picture a bunch of drunk women singing loud & out of tune, of course knowing every word. The following month, Folgelburg succumbed to prostate cancer. What a way to go. This song will always add a little something to my holiday season.
I remember when, I remember, I remember when I lost my mind There was something so pleasant about that place. Even your emotions had an echo In so much space
And when you're out there Without care, Yeah, I was out of touch But it wasn't because I didn't know enough I just knew too much
Does that make me crazy? Does that make me crazy? Does that make me crazy? Possibly [radio version] probably [album version]
And I hope that you are having the time of your life But think twice, that's my only advice
Come on now, who do you, who do you, who do you, who do you think you are, Ha ha ha bless your soul You really think you're in control
Well, I think you're crazy I think you're crazy I think you're crazy Just like me
My heroes had the heart to lose their lives out on a limb And all I remember is thinking, I want to be like them Ever since I was little, ever since I was little it looked like fun And it's no coincidence I've come And I can die when I'm done
This one is fun. “…Who do you think you are? Ha ha ha, bless your soul…” Seriously now. Great to sing & makes me think of the summer that I had my first child, Taylor. I had all this free time, as I left work six weeks before I was due. When I got restless, I would drive somewhere just me, because I knew I still could. This song was on the radio. So this song makes me think of the freedom to do things just myself.
If you are a mother, what songs were on the radio during your “Freedom rides’?
