It was no accident, me finding you.
Someone had a hand in it, long before we ever knew.
Now I just can't believe your in my life.
Heavens smiling down on me as I look into your eyes.
I tip my hat to the keeper of the stars.
He sure knew what he was doing
when he joined these two hearts.
I hold everything when I hold you in my arms.
I've got all I'll ever need thanks to the keeper of the stars.
Soft moonlight on your face, oh how you shine.
It takes my breath away, just to look into your eyes.
I know I don't deserve a treasure like you.
There really are no words to show my gratitude.
tip my hat to the keeper of the stars.
He sure knew what he was doing
when he joined these two hearts.
I hold everything when I hold you in my arms.
I've got all I'll ever need thanks to the keeper of the stars.
It was no accident, me finding you.
Someone had a hand in it, long before we ever knew.
OK Mom, I know your playing the video, singing along reminiscing...right? This is the song that my mother walked down to aisle to for her wedding to my step-father back in 1995. Actually, it wasn't really an aisle, it was our backyard. It was a pretty neat small country style wedding. My stepfather & his best man wore turquoise western themed shirts that he sewed himself, my mother a flowing turquoise skirt, with a cream silk top. And I, the flower girl, wore the dress my mom made for me. I will post a picture, but it was very lovely. We've saved it so that maybe one day my daughter could wear it...for something.
I also had the pleasure of dedicating Keeper of the stars to the parentals at my wedding. Watching them dance to their song after twelve years of marriage was pretty fantastic, & I'm glad I could do that small favor after the dedication they put forth in raising the crazy red-head that is me & the support the lent to the planning of my big day.
Funny side story-- the night before their wedding, after attempting some crazy shenanigans, I sprained my ankle. Classic. I kind of hopped/limped down the aisle. I know we have a video somewhere...
