Words are flying out like
endless rain into a paper cup
They slither while they pass
They slip away across the universe
Pools of sorrow waves of joy
are drifting thorough my open mind
Possessing and caressing me

Jai guru deva om
Nothings gonna change my world
Nothings gonna change my world
Nothings gonna change my world
Nothings gonna change my world

Images of broken light which
dance before me like a million eyes
That call me on and on across the universe
Thoughts meander like a
restless wind inside a letter box
they tumble blindly as
they make their way across the universe

Jai guru deva om
Nothings gonna change my world
Nothings gonna change my world
Nothings gonna change my world
Nothings gonna change my world

Sounds of laughter shades of life
are ringing through my open ears
exciting and inviting me
Limitless undying love which
shines around me like a million suns
It calls me on and on across the universe

Jai guru deva om
Nothings gonna change my world
Nothings gonna change my world
Nothings gonna change my world
Nothings gonna change my world
Jai guru deva

I know that this song was originally song by The Beatles John Lennon, but I love this version the most. That's because I can't get enough of Rufus WainWrights voice. I totally respect The Beatles, Paul being my fav, but have never really taken to their music. They have many songs worthy of note, but I just don't know...I guess I can't love every great musical prodigy. So I will use WainWrights "Across the universe." The original was composed in 1968.

This version of the song makes me think of late 2005, when I was living in St.Johns. I was in awe of the everyday beauty surrounding me. I would take walks on the weekends with my dog, Toby, & just explore the neighborhood & the old houses, with all their character. I tried to guess each ones history, & the families that inhabited them. Around Halloween, many of these beauties were decorated to the max, looking like spooky haunted houses. These people defiantly took pride in their home, & why shouldn't they? They were gorgeous. If there was a song to accompany me on those walks, this would be it.

Sometimes my future husband & I would take drives into downtown. I would admire all the bridges & the buildings as I listened intently to my music. I know this song was playing on one of these occasions. "Nothings going to change my world." At least I didn't want anything to, because I was so in love with it.

If you were wondering, Jai guru deva roughly translates to "Victory to God divine". Yes-- I feel you.

P.S. Look at how young Dakota Fanning is! Oh how she has grown!
