It amazes me just how many covers of this song their are. What made everyone decide they were going to try their take on this track? Is it really that well liked? Or just easy to transform? I don't know, but I enjoy this acoustic version the most by Marie Digby. She has a smooth angelic voice & a fresh face. The original is performed by Rihanna & Jay-z, if you were curious & didn't already know. Not really a fan of it's poppy glitz, but you can check it out if you'd like.

This song goes back to fall of 2007 for me. Unbearable anticipation was in the air during this time, as my November wedding was right around the corner. What a exciting & strenuous time for me. I remember feeling just ecstatic one moment, then filled with unrelenting dread the next. Not over getting married, but over the logistics of the whole ceremony & reception. Have I done everything possible to prepare for the largest event of my life so far? Was everything ordered, everything in place? Will my dress fit me right? Will all the bridesmaids dresses come in on time? I am certainly glad not to be in that place anymore, though remembering the wonderful feeling sometimes leaves me longing to be their once more.

At this time, this song was a current favorite of mine, & I would often hear it coming to & from something bridal related. I would sing a long in the car, & daydream about the upcoming wedding, & what it would mean for us to live as a married couple & do married couple things together. Hearing it now, I almost want to plan someone else's wedding, just to remember what it feels like. Anyone getting hitched?
