100 years

Day 47

--STATS--

Artist: Five for Fighting

Genre: Pop Rock

Album: The Battle for Everything

Released: 2004

I'm 15 for a moment,
Caught in between 10 and 20
And I'm just dreaming,
Counting the ways to where you are

I'm 22 for a moment,
And she feels better than ever
And we're on fire
Making our way back from Mars

15... there's still time for you
Time to buy and time to lose
15... there's never a wish better than this
When you only got a hundred years to live

I'm 33 for a moment,
Still the man but you see I'm a they
A kid on the way
A family on my mind

I'm 45 for a moment,
The sea is high
And I'm heading into a crisis
Chasing the years of my life

15... there's still time for you
Time to buy and time to lose yourself within a morning star
15... I'm all right with you
15... there's never a wish better than this
When you only got a hundred years to live

Half a time goes by
Suddenly you're wise
Another blink of the eye
67 is gone
The sun is getting high,
We're moving on...

I'm 99 for a moment,
Time for just another moment
And I'm just dreaming
Counting the ways to where you are

15... there's still time for you
22... I feel her too
33... you're on your way
Everyday's a new day

Ooooooooooooo
Ooooooooooooo
Ooooooooooooo

15... there's still time for you
Time to buy and time to choose, hey
15... there's never a wish better than this
When you only got a hundred years to live

A good song about life. I can only hope I have a hundred years. I want see my kids live out a majority of their days.
John Ondrasik ( Five for Fighting) projects a lot of class in his music. His albums are respectable & good for easy listening. I very much enjoy his CD America Town & like all of his singles. You can tell when a five for Fighting song comes on the radio. His style is very recognizable as him.

This song was popular when it came out & played frequently. I remember a couple nights before I was preparing to leave for a move to California for job purposes, I lay in bed ( in my sisters room. I was staying at my Moms house as I was in between homes.) with the radio on softly in the background ( I use to sleep with music on). When this song played, I started feeling very sad about my trip. I was to be gone for at least a year, maybe even more, & I would miss my family, friends & boyfriend very much. I knew this was something I needed to do to grow, but as I gazed upon the mural my best friend & I had painted on the wall just that summer, I suddenly felt the urge to just throw in the towel & stay. Eventually, the feeling passed & I did leave a few days later. I ended up coming home much sooner due to unforeseen circumstances later that year. When I hear this song though, I think of then with a heavy heart. I can't even listen to Simon & Garfunkel, as that was the CD my boyfriend was playing the night before I left. Talk about ball city! Luckily, I never really liked them anyway.

Does this song hold a strong memory for you?
